Dance of the Nanites: think 50's sci-fi music meets Martin Denny meets Robert Rodriguez. http://soundcloud.com/arvid-peterson/dance-of-the-nanites The scene: A massive solar flare has caused telecommunication and power grid failures across Europe and Asia. At the labs of Methbright Biomechanical Institute just outside of Innsbuck, Austria a power overload has hit the facility and overwhelmed systems. Dr. Johannes Gribling is called to the Level 3 defense section where Project Swarm was underway. In the clean room, an unexpected consequence is beginning to unfold. A small army of weaponized nanites has been triggered by the overload and are breacing the plasma stasis fields. Furious work is underway, trying to determine which – if any – of the tactical military algorithms have been fed into the launch matrix. As the nanites slowly free themselves, they begin transmissions of target assesment variables. Dr. Gribling decodes the transmissions and discovers that the target acquisition commands have been set to global. The nanites begin forming assault divisions and scanning for living organisms...
